DUI Cases Q & A

What happens after a DUI charge?

After a DUI charge, the court often requires education or treatment as part of compliance. These programs are designed to increase awareness, reduce risky behaviors, and support safer decision-making.

Completing approved DUI requirements on time is an important step toward resolving a case and moving forward. Great Care Health Services is a State-approved DUI Education provider for the state of Tennessee. This approval means classes meet state standards and are accepted for court and compliance requirements.

Instructors for DUI education are certified in Prime for Life, the approved curriculum for Tennessee and 11 other states. Prime for Life is an evidence-based program that helps participants understand risks, make better choices, and reduce the likelihood of future offenses.

Virtual Prime for Life is available as 12- and 24-hour courses across multiple states.

What does DUI education include?

DUI education focuses on understanding impaired driving, substance use, and the consequences of risky choices. The minimum requirement is 12 hours, delivered in structured, instructor-led sessions.

Education helps participants recognize patterns, learn prevention strategies, and make safer decisions in the future. Classes are scheduled in three-hour sessions and conducted online through live video.

The format allows participants to engage with certified instructors in real time while meeting state requirements. Attendance for the full session time is required to receive credit.

If you’re in Tennessee, you can book DUI classes with confidence for compliance. If you live outside Tennessee, check your state’s regulations to confirm whether online, instructor-led courses are accepted before enrolling.

Are DUI classes online or in person?

Most classes are online and instructor-led via live video using Zoom. This option offers flexibility while maintaining accountability and interaction. If you need to attend in person, you can call the office to check the current schedule for available in-person classes.

For safety and compliance, attendees must not be driving during any session. Anyone found driving during class will be removed and won’t receive credit.

What is the difference between DUI education and treatment?

DUI education focuses on awareness and prevention, while DUI treatment provides more in-depth support for individuals needing additional help with substance use.

Great Care Health Services offers both DUI education and DUI treatment, allowing services to be matched to court requirements and individual needs. Call the office today to learn more or get in touch via the online form.
